One time when Rabbi Rodal was driving his class of elementary-school boys to the park for recess, he stopped on the way to pick up his baby daughter. When the class got to the park to play football, he told one of the boys to stay with the baby and watch her in the car. What an example this was for young boys to remember that when they have fun, they should also think of others. Rabbi Rodal really loved his wife and wanted to give her a break. He was a brilliant teacher, a kind and fun person, and a wonderful friend. I learned more from him about teaching than I have ever learned from anyone else.
