I will always remember Rabbi Rodal for his love and care of animals. In grade school, he arranged for our class to incubate chicken eggs. They eventually hatched, sometimes during class to our excitement and the teachers’ chagrin. And every student in class got to take the chicks home for the night to take care and feed them. Rabbi Rodal truly exemplified the middot of Moshe rabbenu, a shephard. As G-d said if he can take so well care of my animals/sheep, how much more so my people.
