Maor means LIGHT UP.
Rabbi Rodal was known for Lighting up peoples lives.
His life and motto was “Make another person Happy”
He would make it a priority to talk to every person he would meet, and even stop into shops just to tell the clerk/owner a joke and make them happy. He noticed the janitors, the beggars, as well as the children, elderly, and everyone in between.
PROJECT HAMAOR is a new initiative to light up someone’s life EVERY SINGLE DAY.
- Greet and approach someone who you wouldn’t normally speak with and introduce yourself and ask them how their day is… or ask someone you already know a little more about themselves and share of yourself too.
- Invite a family/ies to your home for a Shabbos meal (that you wouldn’t normally consider inviting)
- Make sure every person who walks into shul is greeted warmly and welcomed by other members.
- Go out of your way to compliment someone.
Send an uplifting text to at least one person every day that can use a lift.
